BLACKPINK: A fusion of K-pop and global electronic dance music

K-pop superstars BLACKPINK released Glow in the Dark, an EDM-infused album that will further expand K-pop’s global reach. The members collaborated with Swedish DJ Alesso and South African house producer Black Coffee. The song Electric Bloom blends K-pop harmonies with EDM grooves, and features AI-translated lyrics in seven languages to enhance cross-cultural resonance.

WMG’s environmental strategy includes planting 10,000 mangroves for every 1 million streams in Indonesia, while streamlining revenue distribution among all eight producers through a blockchain royalty mechanism. The album broke Apple Music records in 32 countries, with CEO Lena Müller praising it as “a testament to WMG’s ability to combine hyper-commercial art with planetary responsibility.”
